It’s time to “Dare to Flash A Stache”. This event is hosted by the Black Walnut Group, of the greater Winchester area, supported by Prostate Cancer Network Ottawa.
Prostate Cancer affects 1 in 9 men, and when diagnosed early there is a 95% success rate. (It is a leading form of cancer in Canadian men). But it is one cancer that affects the quality of life of both the man and his partner.
This year we are encouraging individuals, businesses, organizations, local groups, companies, and families to raise funds for two local programs. The monies raised will be shared equally between the WDMH Foundation (Winchester District Memorial Hospital) and The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
- WDMH Foundation: These funds support the Cancer Care Coach program. This program has a professional cancer coach available to assist patients and their families with navigating their journey through the treatment and recovery periods.
- The Ottawa Hospital Foundation: These funds support leading edge prostate cancer research taking place at The Ottawa Hospital, which is world renowned. Every dollar donated to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation will be matched by $10.
We dare you men to grow beards or shave them off, and to solicit friends and others to support you. Ladies, don’t feel left out, decorate a stick on moustache and wear it with pride. Make a team, challenge others; help us to help you. Have fun, all while raising money to support Prostate Cancer Research, Support, and Education in your community.
Register yourself, or your team, at bit.ly/DTFAS2021.
